2018 Seed Treatment with Foliar Example

We have a large farm in Augusta, MT that has been using our products and methodologies for several years now. As we introduce new products and improved methods, they are often one of the first farms to try it and it shows in their results. The pictures below are from a field of barley, grown for forage, not grain. This is a 52-acre field that produces well each year. When the field was planted, the seed was treated with our seed treatment protocol prior to planting. The results are very good and the field is thick and growing very well.

As part of their spring nutrition program, they were applying one of our Bio Minerals Technologies foliar packages to a 300 acre field of winter wheat. They had some foliar spray left over, so he decided to apply it to about 4 acres of the barley field and see if it made a difference. The pictures below show the difference, illustrated against Ed's young grandson.

The pictures illustrate that the seed treatment gives the field a great start, but for sustained growth, the foliar nutrients and plant stimulants are also important. The products used for both the seed treatment and for the foliar are shown below.

Seed Treatment (applied per hundredweight of seed)

  • 10 oz Foliar Micro Boost
    Foliar Micro Boost is a blend of trace elements the plants need in higher amounts: N, K, B, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Mo. Each mineral has its own organic chelator.
  • 2 oz Bio Release
    a biologically fermented product that dissolves mineral bonding, making minerals available for he plants, and provides a food source for microbes and plants
  • 2 oz O2-YS
    for pathogen control and plant immune stimulation
  • 0.10 oz Molybdenum 3%
    Mo is the primary trace element that activates the nitrogen forming enzymes in the Azotobacter and also inside the plant so that simpler compounds can be made into proteins
  • 1.6 oz Soil Biology Boost
    12 different groups of beneficial aerobic microbes that fix nitrogen (e.g. Azotobacter, mycorrhizal fungi, etc.) and other nutrients and defend the plant against pathogens

This mixture was applied to the seed before planting

Foliar (applied per acre)

  • 29 gallons Compost/Mineral Tea
    Ed has a 9000 gal brewing unit where he uses the pretreated Humus we produce for him to extract a very broad range of beneficial bacteria - into the hundreds of thousands of species, fungi, many thousands of species, protozoa hundreds to thousands of species, along with naturally occurring Humates which release over 75 minerals -mostly trace elements- into solution due to the Bio Release
  • 32 oz Foliar Micro Boost
    Foliar Micro Boost is a blend of trace elements the plants need in higher amounts: N, K, B, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Mo. Each mineral has its own organic chelator.
  • 30 oz Bio Release
    a biologically fermented product that dissolves mineral bonding, making minerals available for the plants, and provides a food source for microbes and plants
  • 16 oz FLC
    a new fermented bio-stimulant for microbial growth on leaf surfaces
  • 12 oz O2-YS
    for pathogen control and plant immune stimulation
  • 2 oz Mo 3% with organic chelates
    Mo is the primary trace element that activates the nitrogen forming enzymes in the Azotobacter and also inside the plant so that simpler compounds can be made into proteins
  • 5 lbs Mg Sulfate (Dissolved)
    10% Mg and 13% S with various trace elements; MT soils are almost all high in Mg which means the plants are Mg deficient. Sulfur is also lacking now
  • 2 oz micronized soft rock phosphate dust
    Ca, P and approx 55 other trace elements

The foliar was applied to the plants when they were up and growing with sufficient leaf surface area to receive the spray.
